Programs
of Christian Education at Brookside Congregational Church reflect
the model provided by Jesus for learning about God and how we
are to live and share God's love. This model includes constant
conversation, frequent and regular gathering times for worship
and prayer, to make the sharing of insights and learning an ongoing
part of our lives.
Our educational offerings seek to engage teachers and learners
in conversation about matters of faith with opportunities for
interaction between generations. No matter how old we are, the
work of living in faith continues as long as we live.

Church School
Our programs embrace learners of all ages. The Infant/Toddler
Room is open to receive children (up to the age of 3) at 9:45
a.m. so that parents may leave their child before entering the
Sanctuary for worship at 10:00.
Children
from 3 years of age through the seventh grade attend worship with
us through the Children's Story, after which they leave the Sanctuary
for their classrooms. Classes are led by volunteer teachers using
a theme based Bible Curriculum from Standard Publishing.
Sunday School concludes at 11:15 a.m. Parents are asked to respect
this ending time in the event that morning worship ends early.
Young teens in 8th grade participate in a Confirmation
Class (led by the pastor and/or C.E. Director) beginning late
in the fall and continuing through the winter with Confirmation
Sunday scheduled in the spring.
Summer Sunday School
Each week during the summer, crib room care is available from
9:45 to 11 a.m., and classes for preschoolers run from 10:15 (following
the children's story) to 11 a.m.

New Ideas for Church School in 2008-09
Thank you, thank you to the many teachers and assistants
who have worked with our children during the Church School
hour this past year. The 2008-09 church school year looks
to be quite exciting. The C.E. Board has chosen a new
curriculum and an exciting new concept for providing Christian
Education to our for preschool children through 7th grade
youth.
Adults and high school aged teens are encouraged to come
to a short presentation right after church on May
18 in Fellowship Hall. Please contact Ed Mitchell
(345-4335) if you have questions.
